Sacred Writing

A candle and journal outside by a fence with the light of the moon above.
My sacred writing ritual, every single day.

Today I was up too early feeling grumpy and bereft--the mysteries of my illness and healing often bring on grief. The things I long for (sanctuary land, community, in-person gathering) seem so far away, especially without a consistently well body. But in my quiet morning outdoor writing ritual my Dísir--my ancestral grandmothers--urged me on to vision.

In this time of darkening they say: plant your seeds.

I choose to believe our Dísir are guiding our lineages to healing, tending visions even when we cannot, weaving wyrd even when we can't see it. Somehow, in this magical life, they bring to being all that is essential for our growth.

Sacred writing is one of the ways I receive their guidance. There are many others, but keeping a record of their words helps root me in remembering.

Where do you need support in this day?

How can your Dísir nourish your growth?

What small steps are they encouraging?

When will you plant your sacred seeds of word or deed in the soil of this work?

Sending so much love and gratitude for this process--

By this and every effort may the balance be regained.
